Lower stretch is doubtful this year too
Doubtful the stretch below Gateway will be floatable this year. Although it can be done lower, 1,800 CFS or more is nice for that run. It has been flowing 200 and even less lately, and snow pack is poor in the San Miguel basin which feeds that run. I drove across the Dolores last week at the ford near Dewey Bridge. I was expecting a free car wash but the water barely touched the body of my truck. Not normal for late April.
There is also a runable stretch above McPhee, near the town of Dolores, Colorado but not this year.
This river could flow 15,000 - 20,000 CFS before McPhee Reservoir! What a shame.
