Call the Moab BLM River Unit (435) 259-7012 between 8 AM and noon MST. It's been off all summer...

After a long dry summer I am happy to report that there is potable water available at the Westwater Ranger Station. As always, the water system is a bit finicky and you should come prepared with your drinking water just in case the system is down. Thank you for your patience during the construction project and upgrades to the Westwater facility.

I always take my own water for Westwater/Lodore/Yampa. If it is available at the put-in it comes from a cistern and is foamy and tastes funny. Why would drinking water be foamy?

Drinking Water at WW

Never had a problem with the drinking water at WW. Was running great a couple weeks ago.

I'm not sure who I spoke to at the BLM office, but they told me charcoal fires were allowed.
