Texas Floats?

Freshly arrived in the Austin Texas area from Colorado and looking for some river time. I know the pickings are a little slim but just looking for a good day on the river, not worried about white water or fishing quality, just need to get out of the city. Looking for anything from half day to overnight trip. Thanks!

The San Marcos River is pretty nice, just south about 30 minutes. It's flat except some ripples by the gates and three fun drops in the man made park. You can take out down by a bridge and campground, cannot remember the place but the lady that runs it is named Pat.

There are other similar rivers in the area, they are mostly spring fed, which makes for great water quality and a cool temperature.

The Guadalupe is a good float with some decent ripples at high water. Not sure what the flows would be this time of year. Usually you have to dodge a million tubers but it's fun as a booze cruise.
