Smith River, MT

I'm looking to jump on a Smith float if anyone is willing to take on an extra person, possibly two. I throughly enjoy this float and hope to get on it again this year.

I've done the Smith the last three years consecutively, but unfortunately our crew didn't pull a permit this year. (fingers crossed for a cancelation) I've got a 14' SB set up for multi-day travel with lots of gear hauling capabilities as well as an assortment of community gear. I also have a trailer that can haul a bunch of gear and/or multiple rigs.

I can assist with any planning needs or offer advice as I've planned this river a few times. Very laid back traveler who isn't afraid of a little work and helping out around camp. Fully self sufficient if need be and can keep to myself or can usually integrate with most groups seamlessly.

I work a goofy schedule out of town but am usually available the last two weeks of the month. I'm based out of the Belgrade/Manhattan area. If anyone is willing to pick up a stray boater, feel free to pm me and I can pass on more information.

I'm also open to meeting new people and fellow boaters in the area. I try to get on the water as much as possible and would love to expand my circle of river friends. Day trips to multi day trips in the local vicinity and MT/ID area are usually what I do. If this sounds interesting and you want an extra boat in your crew I'm always open to jumping on the river any time it jives with my work schedule! (Doesn't have to be the Smith)

Thanks for looking and cheers!

I meant to post last week but have been pretty slammed. As it turns out I just got off the Smith, it was a great trip but probably my only Smith run this year. I'm also a belowgradeian and would love additions to our crew, lets stay in touch.

As far as cancellations, we called last Tuesday and got a permit for Friday. There were 3 other permits that day, so still 5 available. My guess is in the next few weeks it should be pretty easy to grab a permit, but it will get exponentially harder as time goes on.
