I should have mentioned too, a lot of times you arenít going to be able to give the shuttle company your keys beforehand either. You let them know where you are going to hide them, leave the money in the truck, and theyíll ask you where you want them to leave them, whether itís in the car or under a bumper or something. Sometimes you are just calling on the way to the put-in the morning to set it up. Or say you are from Denver and River Runners is running your Lodore shuttle, not going to run over to Vernal to drop off a key.
Paying for a shuttle is usually the easiest, but also becomes the most costly which gets old quick on day trips. Sometimes you can throw an invite out on the Buzz and someone will be there too and shuttle with you. A scooter/moped/dirt bike is probably the most hassle free for a couple since you mentioned that. Donít have to rely on other people and will pay for itself pretty quickly if you are running a lot. Shuttling is the worst part of the deal for me anyway. Multiday trips itís almost always worth it to pay for a shuttle.
