I hiked it shortly after the washout. I like to consider myself a very fit hiker (just spent several days backpacking in the Grand Canyon), and I thought it was a slog. We hiked it in the middle of July though when temps were pushing 100. The trail through the gulch bottom is easy to follow, but where it leaves the gulch and gains the ridge it becomes more obscure and parts require some scrambling. I want to say it took us 2-2.5 hours up and 45-1 hour down. I didn't bring enough water and spent the hike out hot and thirsty.
