Rafting Beta: Lower Blue

I am looking for some info on the Lower Blue. A freind of mine mentioned today that he heard there is some great fishing on that stretch. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

You'll need rope to lower your boat at the put in--at least two typical throw bags worth.

I don't know if I would try to run a raft down it today. I have run it a 600+ and it was a bit boney. The put in is a pain in the a$% you will need about 100 feet of rope. Good luck fishing.

I float it every chance I get. The lowest I've done it is 470. And it was tough getting through some spots. You need to be real careful. Because of the private property you float through. The ranch hands frequently will watch you float through the tough sections from their trucks with spotting scopes. The trucks are generally white and like to sit up high or on the bridges as you float under. They like to make it known they are watching you. If you "treaspass" or step onto rocks in the river they will have a sheriff's deputy meet you at the take out. Which is a whole other issue. After the 20 year high flows this spring there was significant errosion that made the take out pretty nasty as well. The fishing can be good but generally better on a rising river. I fish a 7 weight once out of the canyon if that gives you an idea of the size of the fish
