Searched previous topics, but no one was specifically addressing this. What's the lowest level you would paddle raft the Upper Eagle (Eagle-Vail to Edwards) in a 14' raft? We'll have at most 3 people in the boat, so we'll be nice and light. Predictions put it right around 400 cfs for this weekend. Worth it or is the potential boat damage too high? Thanks!
I have a 14ft. raft and haven't made that run yet this year. Not gonna happen. Lower eagle below Wolcott is your best bet. The lowest I've run the middle is around 750/800 cfs. Good luck!
Don't know about above Wolcott, but from there to Eagle is gonna be super boney at these levels. Beneath I70 is probably the worst part- but there are a few other stretches where you'll be walking/dragging
"Lower Colorado" go up a few miles from Dotsero you can't miss the put in. Take out at Dotsero....Parking lot by green bridge.
Rode my bike down through Glenwood Canyon this AM. Shashone is a rock garden but the commercial raft companies are still running it. I usually take out at Two Rivers Park. There is one tricky move you should be aware of or you could wrap your boat. If you have a bike you could scout and watch the Pro Guides make the move. It's maybe one half of mile from put in. You have to enter the rapid between two rocks (on river right) sideways and immediately pull hard back towards the center.
