Mesa Canyon @ 1000 cfs ?

San Juan in Pagosa. Looking to run this stretch for the first time. Sounds like a great day trip. Hoping 800-1000 will be ok for our 14' oar frame.
I know the put in--behind the malt shoppe.
For the takeout, is it trailer-able or do you have to carry your rig?
Easy to bike shuttle?

I think you'll be ok in your rig. There is plenty of space at the takeout for a trailer. As for bike shuttle I wouldn't want to do ride it personally. Classic case of 13 river miles equals 20ish on the road, most of which is on gravel in working farm country, read big farm trucks on tight gravel road.

Pleasant float, not much action. Lot's of private property. The only place on the run that is legal to stop is well marked on river left about half way through. Last time I ran it I stopped to pee on gravel below a tall cut bank where I didn't think anyone could see me. No houses were in soon as I am finishing my business I hear the hum of an atv approaching. Just as I got back in my boat I look up to see a burly gentlemen looking down at me asking if everything is ok and reminding me of his private property....
