I suppose it depends on your definition of hairy. I've run it at 60k and thought it was a blast. You can nearly beat your shuttle driver at that flow. It's a alot of fast huge wave trains. Keep a close eye on your map as you'll be moving fast and you don't want to be surprised by Chittum or Whiplash or miss Barth HS.
Alot of the camps have a great high water bench. You could run all the way past Riggins and take out at Eagle Creek before you get to the Slide. Depending on the flow, you may not even need to resupply.
