What do you mean by low water? To me, low water is below 1000 cfs. I agree that the rapids are generally over-rated. But I would like to see a newbie row your 14' raft trough Nuisance at say 600-700 cfs, and then watch you have fun un-pinning it
trying to rig anchors in poison ivy. I know of newbies and not-nubies that have had entertainment with the nuisance move at low flows, though a scout is very hard due to terrain and poison ivy.
Most folks look at whistling bird their very first time (easy scout on river left). You can scout montgomery but doubtful it will help. Just make sure not to get into the shallows on river right and don't try to pull hard to the right at the bottom to avoid the 2 boulder, just hit the slot between them where the river wants to take you.
