Lodore put-in ramp

What's it like this year? Big sand bar or water at the ramp or something in-between?

As of last Thursday when we put in, there is a big sandbar island in the river but it's far out enough that it doesn't interfere with the put-in. You can easily ferry over to it and wait there or eddy out there for the rest of your party if you need to.

Our party put their boats together the night before and then tied them up just downstream of the ramp off the small beach. Plenty of room. You just have to deal with the limited vehicle space on the actual ramp.

It was a great trip btw, my second on Lodore but my first time on my own raft. Daily river level fluctuations between about 1200 and 2400, high around noon at the put-in, good spread-out usage, quite a few deer and bighorn sightings. Water is a bit too warm to cool beers properly. Watch out for the skunks at the Jones Hole camps.
