it's 3 weeks in march on the grand.
1 week will be nice, 1 nasty, and 1 in-between. at least that has been my experience.
a 16' cat, overloaded, would not be my first choice for that trip. not that you can't do it but give yourself the added buffer/space for foul weather gear/clothes, a few extra beverages, firewood, tons of hand lotion, butt wipes, spare parts, screws, bolts, washers, for everything, spare chairs (they always get broken), tarps, whatever.
i'm not saying bring the kitchen sink, but bringing/having a few extra niceties to share with others on a 3 week, short daylight, cold water, might snow, probably will rain, definitely will be windly/gusty, longest river trip you've probably been on in your life, trip of a lifetime, will be appreciated.
