Can we get an Upper C forum already? Assuming you're for real, here is the challenge. The world is full of idiots. Some of them like to go rafting on the Upper Colorado around Pumphouse and Statebridge. Being that this is your first post, we don't know if you are an idiot or not.
What we do know is that you asked if this section is appropriate for a 4 year old to ducky. Everybody draws the line is a different place, but where I'm from, 4 years old's don't paddle duckies in whitewater.
So maybe you have no idea what this section is like, maybe your 4 year old is the worlds most bad ass toddler duckier, maybe you have very little experience on the river, or maybe you're an idiot. I don't know.
From what I've seen, it's the people who are real good at talking the talk who can't even begin to walk the walk. I'd really like to be able to say, "It's the Upper, what can go wrong". But unfortunately so far this year I've seen a raft trash with nothing tied in except a puppy leashed to the frame, a mother holding an infant (less than 1 year old) with no pfd heading toward Needles at 8K, people falling out of the raft at the Pumphouse playwave, a brand new drift boat sink by pinning on the bridge at Radium, a trailer axle come flying off at the Statebridge ramp, thousands of $s of gear dumped in the river, 3 dogs swim Needles at high water, etc.
So we all like to think it's the other guy but I'm not sure. Its a shit show and we're lucky that there haven't been more serious issues. So, if your 4 year old wants to ducky, go to the lake.
