A couple of years ago I was faced with the same problem, no trailer. I showed up at around 4:30 in the afternoon and waited for the ranger to leave for the day. He left shortly there after, and I drove down the ramp, took two hours to blow up my raft, assemble my frame, and pack it for an eight day float to Split Mountain. No one bothered me. This approach will, however, pose the problem of not making it out of the A section before dark, and there is no camping allowed in that section. I did camp with a prepared cold dinner and planned to get out at first light before any other boats came by. Only problem was the dam shut down their flow and my rig was high and dry in the morning. I had to move fast to lighten her up enough to pull into the water, and was successful doing so just before the first boat came around the corner. Whew! Have fun and good luck fishing, it's fantastic.
