Being an intermediate boater and having graduated to comfort with Class 3 only in the last 3 years, some words of advice. Strongly recommend you run Browns with someone that knows the lines really well (especially if you are going to have kids in the boat). With a big boat like that, I could see trouble in pinball or widowmaker if you don't know where you are going. Most everything else through Hecla, you should be fine with at intermediate flows in such a forgiving boat. Those two rapids are pretty technical.

Browns is a large step up from Stone Bridge to Rincon. You might try Pinnacle to Parkdale at 1700 or so. That is a slight step down from Browns and you don't have as much technical stuff there (although I don't recall the tightness between the rocks of 3 rocks at those flows). It's a very fun run and is roadside if there is trouble.

If the girls start acting up I'm going to tell them that 'I'm going to pull this cat over right now and fish.
Pull over and teach them to fish, you will never regret it!

Time is like a river. You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment of life on or off the river. is online now   Reply With Quote
