I started a new thread because the old thread would not let me post a reply because the thread was older than 161 days??!?!
4 of us did a 8.5 day trip, Jan 5-13th 2016, Lee's to DC. Two of us were in kayaks (Tornado and RPM MAX), the other two, who had never rafted before, ever, rowed my ancient, 16', Avon Pro SB. The two guys rowing the Avon are elite athletes, so don't get it twisted. When I say elite, I mean it is their profession to work out all day, every day. The rafters only scouted Hance and Lava, and their oars never stopped moving. They would switch off 30 minute rowing shifts. We would launch around 9am and get to camp around 5pm. We had one lay-over day at Racetrack. Personally, having done the Grand 5 times, I will never do a RAFT trip under 14 days again. Would definitely do a 6, or 7 day kayak trip, or a speed run attempt.
48 seconds of glory, our crew readin' and runnin' Crystal!!!!:
