Take Out

The take out below the dirt devil confluence on the west side is in good shape. It was freshly graded it looked like during the Glenn Canyon Institute float about a month ago. Talking to folks it sounded like it is much nicer now than it used to be.

Carry up the hill

The ramp has recently been worked on. It is slightly wider but still has a pretty good grade.

I'd be very careful backing down it with a trailer. There is strong current on shore and several hidden rocks that generally prevent you from backing the trailer into the water.

If you plan on de-rigging and carrying up the hill it works a bit better.

Motor rigs be careful of the rocks.

Most of the commercials are roller tubing up the hill to avoid the whole situation.

The NPS has used the newer plowed area on the upstream side of the ramp. It has a better eddy.

Does anybody have any plastic pipes chilling down there or should I haul a bunch down with me?

You'll find half a dozen heavy duty pvc tubes in the back of Tag-a-Longs beater pickup.

I'm not giving you permission to use them...but they're in there. Throw a couple of bucks at Bob Jones and I'm sure he'd be happy to loan them out.

Easier to just bring a few yourself to be sure you get out.
