Bugs and berries in Hells Canyon

Does anyone getting off lately have any info on bug issues (other than the ever present spiders of course) or if the black berries are ripe in hells canyon. I'm launching July 20th hoping for none of one and lots of the other.

We pulled off the river 7/2 at Pittsburgh, bugs were a non-issue. Blackberries were clearly not ripe when we were there, but the apricots were and it seemed the bears were beginning to become aware of the apricots. Enjoy your float!

Got off on the 5th. No bugs to speak of except spiders which confined us to tents. Berries were just about to turn -odds are good they will be out soon.

I have to admit I have never seen faster web spinners then the spiders on the Snake in hells canyon. I have gotten up early to find my tent sealed shut by a massive web with eggs. Siting under a tree to watch one slowly slide down a single strand on to a buddies head can be very entertaining.
