Gotta agree with this and add that boating skills should be up to snuff too. The Jarbidge/Bruneau really is BFE, the river and that road are not to be taken lightly. I took my 4wd in for an overhaul before going and I was glad I did. I also updated the patch kit

My major professor, a Nampa native, tried to run the Bruneau back in the early 60s in small rafts with some other very inexperienced rafters. They were nearly killed, lost both rafts, took two days to climb out of the canyon (sleeping overnight in the rain on a cliff), and walked many miles to finally get rescued. He tells a very wild story of that canyon.
