He was actually quite helpful during the planning stages of my aborted full-length run in 2008.
Interesting that his book is 8 years old, the Aulbach guides are 15 years old, and the personal replies here are from trips pushing 20 years ago. Pretty much all pre-cartel (or at least modern cartel), pre-terrorist, pre-patriot/militia border patrol groups.
It would be good to get a more recent trip report. I know the logistics and water flow difficulties thwarted my attempts to do a thru-trip.
