Arkansas River Rafting Outfit rec plz

I have 4 friends flying in from FL who would like to do a 3 day rafting trip from Numbers down (or any other river comparable, they are not experienced, but in good shape) on Memorial Day weekend. I would like to join them in my "Y" as safety with my own gear, but would pay for some grub. Anyone have a suggested outfitter for this trip? Someone who has decent gear and guides . . . and more importantly from my perspective, cooks well.

Thanks for the assist,

Any opinions on "Wilderness Aware"?

Ask for an older, more experienced guide(s)

Go with Performance Tours, 1-800-328-7238. Ask for Creed as your guide. Great company.

You will get a bunch of recommendations, everything from River Runners to AVA. They are all good companies with good guides.

Wilderness Aware is a fine company. They tend to be more "By the Book". If that's your thing, then great. If not, go with Creed.

Everybody is about the same as far as safety.

You'll have a great time!

Noah's Arc....
only then can they be assured that they will get to run rapids with a highly qualified guide that has been thoroughly contracted to not drink, take drugs or have premarital sex for the duration of their summer employment

Buffalo Joe's is a quality company with entertaining guides and the best steak lunches on the river.

I'd try The Adventure Company, KODI, Performance Tours, River Runners (Ask for Kirby)'s hard to pick a bad company in that valley. I've heard Aquired Tastes has the best food, but I have never used them. My son trained with Buff Joes.....they are a great choice too. Hard to pick a bad company in that valley. (Noah's only runs Browns........thank GOD for that.)

The question might be who will let you tag along with the trip. I know some companies can only haul you on their shuttle busses if your a paying customer. Good luck and SYOTR!
