You want to meet a bucket boater? Why don't you just go try a bucket boat? They're tons of fun..(if you got room between rapids to bail...) much wetter ride, if paddling, always an element of being slightly out of control, and should you find yourself surfing a keeper hole (if you anticipated and highsided), while staring into gaping violent hole from your highside perch, the next 45 seconds of your life will feel like hours...as you continue to surf hole, and bucket boat fills up with water; eventually too heavy to flip and hole releasing you and boat, (now filled wit 1000's of lbs of "lowsiding' water weight!)
PS: If you got a paddle boat on middle fork, if you camp ar hospital bar, you can put boat under hotsprings and let fill w/ water. Hottub under the stars! Also float lower when dealing with upstream winds...
Most important; you know if a river rat is lying, when their lips are moving! Ha!
