"The Very Hard Way" by Brad Dimmock

This book tells the story of Burt Loper, the "Grand Old Man of the Colorado River." For anyone who's interested in early river running history this book is a must read. Can't recommend this one enough. Brad is an amazing river historian and writer. This one book brings all the legendary river runners together because Burt knew them all...

Not really grand related but . "Anything worth doing" is a must read for any whitewater rafter... mainly main salmon related...

Check out this website. He is a professor in the Outdoor Education major at Idaho State University and has written a guidebook for Idaho rivers, winter trails, and of course one of the most famous kayakers in the nation during the 1970s Dr. Walt Blackadar

The Main Salmon is my favorite trip so I'll have to read that one.
