I don't have experience rowing a Super Puma, but I R2 my Puma and have done so in class 3 boogie water up to the Gauley at 6k cfs, with no flips. I also know that it can flip easily and have days that I want to get wet and have a wild ride while others...not so much, so I hit rapids differently.

That said, I'm about to get a frame for my Puma since that seems to be the way to go out here in the West.

Take the advise of rig your weight low, keep your weight as light as possible, and maybe you have to skirt a few holes / bigger hits. You'll still have fun!

As for the comment about Saturns don't flip, clearly you don't know what a good guide can do! I've seen Saturns flip regularly, but they don't surf worth a dang.

Go for it!

I ran it in the beginning of June (blue puma in this notorious video )

Before that the only time I rowed at all was a trip down Westwater where I flipped right before skull.

Made it down the MF with the boat upright.

Took a SD Puma down the MFS. Flows were 4.5 at Boundary and we finished at 6.5. Granted my SDP is a little longer and wider but the closest we came to going over was at Velvet. My wife and I running Velvet is at 5:55 in the linked video. Keep your momentum through everything. No backing away from trouble or you'll stall in the waves.
