Hmmm Not sure I would take kids at these levels

You can absolutely get raft down the river at these levels, but there are numerous drops that could flip a raft. and other construction related hazards.

The Union chutes are BIG above 2000cfs. Level should be dropping though.

There is a major construction project 1/2 mile south of Alameda. The River is "closed" in this area, although there won't be anyone on the jobsite on Saturday and many are floating through it. There are culverts that are not visible at these high levels that will be coming into play as the levels drop

The double drop above 6th AVE, right next to the Denver Wastewater building is huge and could easily flip and/or Pin a raft.

At Confluence Park, the river is constricted by a coffer Dam and sends you right towards the bridge abutment on 15th St. Make a definite move to one side or the other.

Should be fun, but stay heads up!

We ran it several weeks ago when the level was similar. The river closure is no joke, those temporary bridge pilings would be deadly for any raft. We stopped under the bridge at Mississippi and hoofed it to the closure to scout it then ended up pulling the boat through the construction on river left.

We were feeling pretty cocky when we approached that dam below 6th and coin toss ran it to the left which was the wrong call. 7 dudes went right over that lovely, tall wall of concrete and surfed the keeper wave for a few minutes before pushing off the dam wall with an oar. Took out between the aquarium and REI.

We were in an 18' Hyside, I wouldn't advise running a 14 footer with your boys unless you knew every chute along the way. We might run it again Sunday morning. PM me and maybe we can tag team it.

Sounds like my boys will have to wait. I still want to give it a look.

It shortens the run a lot but putting in at the Littleton Golf Course by the tennis tents and taking out just North of Evans is a fairly risk free run.

Check it out though.
