What went wrong here?

After seeing the video someone posted of carnage at Husum I had to post a link to this photo series of my brother and friends a few years back. At least they're all wearing helmets and there are no unnecessary rope deployments...

What a Gong Show! And yes that is a bicycle helmet, still better than no helmet I suppose...

Dude is a idiot. Bike helmets are designed to hit cement at high rates of speed not deep pools of water at 5mph.
Back in the day my friends and I drove out from Portland and ran hussum 5 times in a day. We would take out below the bridge and walk the boats up the road. We had bike helmets on with 12 pack boxes on our head. Good times. It doesn't matter what you do on that drop its just luck for the most part. Too old for that car wreck drop these days.. Fun fact, hussum falls is the biggest commercially run drop in the U.S.
