Westwater peaked already?

So we have a permit on Westwater over Memorial Day. Even though its been decently warm the past couple of days the flow keeps going down. Has the Colorado already peaked this year?

Nope. Lot's of snow up high in the Colorado river basin. It was 20 degrees below average Monday and now is just back to average. It has been below freezing at 8000 ft. If it warms up, like it is forecasted this week, it will definitely come up and Westwater should go well above 20,000 cfs.

Flow has not peaked. It has not been warm in the high elevations where the snow is. Upper Gunnison basin snowpack is 130% of normal and Upper Colorado is at 145%. Lots of snow to melt and it also takes a few days to travel from the mountains to WW when it is melting.

It just stopped snowing today!!
My Prediction is you will have WW about 16-17K that weekend. (with the weather in the mid to upper 60s in the Upper C basin...weatehr in Fruita in 90s)

Like others said still a lot of snow in the mountains. I can see "white capped" mountains from my office building here in Denver.

That's for the 411 on the snow pack... I didn't think it had peaked, but was surprised that it has dropped as much as it has.

I've not been on WW in the 15-16k range... lots of other levels, not that... I would love to see it there next weekend!

I'll bet it peaks at 40k cfs this year. It was 44,300 cfs in 1993 - 49,300 cfs in 1995 -37,500 cfs in 1997 - 39,600 cfs in 2008 and 47,700 cfs in 2011. It's going to be big come mid June.

GJ Daily Sentinel article today contained predictions in the 33,000 range at peak. Not from the USGS website so I don't know what it's worth.
