To dropstich or not to dropstich

16' SL multiday gearboat. Any reasons for or against a DS floor. Have seen a few but never rowed a loaded boat that had one. Thanks.

It is much easier to repair an I beam floor, but I tend to like the performance of the DS boats. I think once you load a boat, it's slow. The more weight (to me) the less it matters in hull design in my opinion. The tubes are pushing more water than the floor at that point. I wonder if the DS floors get off rocks better?

Wishing I was on the river instead of surfing the web...

Drop stitch floors are better for standing on if you fish a lot. You can just stand on that rigid floor and eliminate the extra expense and weight of casting platforms.
