San Juan flow

I've been watching the San Juan gauge at Bluff. It rose up the last couple of days and is now going down. I understand that the peak is usually around this time. Does anybody know if that was the peak? I'm putting on this Monday (June 2nd) and would like as much flow as possible.

San Juan

Most of the water in the SJ is coming from the Animas. Watch the Animas gauge at Durango, it's about 4-5 days flow upstream of Bluff, some loss from irrigation on the way down to Bluff but not that much. It's gone up for the last two days, now at 3500 cfs.

You will get what you get. We had 600csf last week or so. It was fine in a 14 ft boat, as long as you can read water and look ahead for sand bars on the lower. Government was most bony, have to stay of the right side, and hit it straight on to squeeze through.... You did not say if you were doing the upper or lower. The Juan is fun at any water, just more of a challenge at lower, but often better camping. Good luck, stay safe and have fun!
