Salmon river rd Magnesium cloride

https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/scnf/...d=FSEPRD549725

Looks like they are doing the magnesium chloride road treatment for dust abatement this week. the 11th and 12th is when they will be laying it down.. If you have ever driven this road the day they lay it down you know it is a huge mess... We are launching on the 13th and will be going down on the 12th. I will be tarping everything I can and trying to close of the front of the trailer.. kinda like driving out of the Owyhee in a rain storm.

That stuff super charges trailer corrosion and sets up like cement. I highly recommend washing it ASAP. I left it on for 12 hours once, and have regretted that I left it that long.

Salmon River Road

I am not familiar with this treatment. Is it like oil? How long after the treatment should we be concerned? Going down on the 13th.

It wasn't oily. Judging by how quickly it set up on the trailer and vehicle, you'll probably be fine driving on it a day after. I drove through it on a day they were grading and applying the product.

That crap rusted the bejeezus out of our trailer and van! It was like it had just rained Mag Chloride, pools everywhere and it was running into the river. Wash your rig ASAP, the underside especially, if you are there on the application day! If it has dried, it shouldn't be a big deal.
