Rio Chama daily run for a new rafter

Looking for input/info on the Chavez Canyon to Big Eddy daily on the Chama. I'm fairly new to rafting and plan on taking my wife and two of her friends in a 12' oar rig. I was up on the Upper Rio Grande (Creede to South Fork) in early July and had no problems rowing that stretch.

I'm assuming this run gets fairly busy on weekends so I might be able to follow another boat through the more difficult stretches if needed. Am I getting in over my head here or does this sound like a reasonable run for me?

Also if anyone wants to meet up for this and be the lead boat I will buy beers!

If there is enough water, this is all read and run low 3 or hi 2 rapids

not that pushy but at summer levels lots of rocks to miss and shallow channels.

take plenty of liquids and have fun

As a point of reference I did from the Brazos through Cochiti in a standard canoe as a teenager with very little experience. Outside of some barbed wire and poison ivy, there is nothing of consequence on the Chama. Lots of great New Mexico scenery, but no bad water. Your biggest obstacle will be finding a clean channel unless they've opened up the dam a bit

They usually bump up releases for the weekends. And there is really nothing of significance on that stretch, other than how hot it is... bring LOTS of sunscreen.

Yeah it looks like flows for this weekend will be well over the minimum recommended 500 cfs so I'm thinking that I'll be good to go. Thanks for your input guys, and if any of you happen to be out there tomorrow be on the lookout for the ghetto red raft with a guy rowing and three ladies strewn about it (or around it, who knows).
