Rafting the New WV

I am going to be heading down to the New River in WV June 17th - June 24th if anyone is interested in doing some rafting or meeting up. We will be in a 14 foot raft, no kayaks with us but welcome if you want to join.

Does anyone no the best running levels of the new. I no there is alot of undercut rocks here and can get pretty bad at different levels?

Also does any body no of the best camping in the area. We would like something with showers, dog friendly, close to some hiking and climbing, close driving disatance to town (bars and music) and OH YA close to put in and take outs

I have made hundreds of trips down the new and I would say the best levels are from 4 feet to 7 feet(thurmund gauge).Lower levels start seeing some rocks and higher levels some drops start washing out into big wave trains. I have run it down to .6 feet up to 14.5 feet. All are good; any level beats being at work. At lower levels double z has a nasty undercut on the left but the rest are pretty straight forward till you get to 10 feet or so.
The best camping in the area is Babcock State Park(meets all your criteria)

I would stay at one of the outfitter campgrounds if you want night life. Driving in Fayetteville with out of state plates is risky even if you havent been drinking. Rivermen is nice. Live music, cheap drafts etc. What paddle it said is on point. Undercuts really do start coming into play at low water. The New isn't undercut by WV standards, which means its more undercut than whatever else your probably used to.
