This strikes me as a bit divisive. "...our access..." Sounds like you're suggesting it's kayaker's access. Kayakers and rafters share the responsibility to protect access for the boating community. We're all on the same team here man. I both raft and kayak and being respectful of private property is a shared ethic.

In my opinion it would be more productive to be a little more positive and remind folks that access here can be tenuous and any raft descents should take care to be respectful of private property.

I think that access issues are usually more centered around the boater him/herself and the land owner, not what craft the boater is in.

I do not know any land owners that would let kayaks on but not rafts

As long as we are all kind and respectful of the owner I do see why rafts have a better possibility of "f ing things up."

The raft in question was an oar rig, that bumbled into the section unintentionally, IIRC.

Go back to work, Trevor; I see no reason to discourage QUALIFIED rafters.
