I have rowed my pro loks on big water IV+, tight steep technical IV, and a lot in between. No reservations for me on tougher water.
But, that said, I've seen folks nail the Cascade, Tumwater, Crooked, Illinois, Wind and NF Payette in open locks.
I think it goes back to the same old thing: being dialed in on your own setup trumps theoretical design improvements.
