I'd stick to wood, I bet it costs a small fortune to get that stuff to AK. Wood works great, it's easy to work with and it's removable. Yukon has limited resorces up there for things we take for granted. Alaska is home of the 20$ hamburger.

AAA inflatables here in denver makes swedged corners for 1 1/4 frames. they are about $40 a piece. they are 90* bends with the ends swedged (shrunk down) to fit inside the 1 1/4 tube. they are pinned in place. this will allow you to do a standard double rail with curved corners. it will be compact, and then you just use the hollander or nrs typperhaps you could have someone make you some up there?
