LEMHI COUNTY -- Lemhi County Sheriff's Office officials say a Wyoming man is believed to have drowned after a boating accident on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River.
A 911 caller told dispatchers at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday that a possible drowning had occurred near the Cutthroat Cove area.
Forty-six-year-old Mike Olson of Lyman, Wyoming, and formerly of Challis, is missing and presumed dead.
A rescue helicopter from Two Bear Air helped search the area, but did not spot Olson.
According to the sheriff's office, the search by air and water is continuing in a ten-mile stretch of the Middle Fork.
