Main Salmon Black Canyon Oar Retrival

Hey, who lost an oar in black canyon rapid. Just got off the main salmon and our group retrieved the oar from the top of black canyon. That's my nephew Ryan in the kayak doing all the fun stuff to get to the oar, And my son Row filmed the whole thing. Just wondering how the heck it got there in the first place. Hippity Ho!

Nice! It looks like the rafts take the right side, then go left hard. Is that the line?

Ya, the line was start left go right at the top stern first and spin around to pull away from the bottom left hole with some momentum. As the water drops the line will get tougher when the top marker rock gets more exposed and the bottom left rock won't have as much of a pillow push to the right and out of danger. It looked like there was far right line going thru by starting right and moving to the center right of the rock island. Loads of fun!

We ran Black Creek right, and it was a blast. Good job on the oar removal, wondered how long that thing was gonna be there. The ranger at Corn Creek told us that a raft at high water got stuck on the rocks, and lodged the oar. They were stuck there long enough for a jet boat to come by and knock them free.
