Bradd, seen stuff like this happen so don't let it get you down. There are snobs on the river who will turn their noses up at you and make assumptions when things like this happen, but many helpful and gracious ones are out there too! Rig to flip, dress to swim always, and keep your eyes on the river. Saw a accompanying boat in my party flip on the rock (left side) coming into horseshoe bend a few years ago. They lost most of their crap in the boat including everything in their dry boxes (car keys too) and all the food in their coolers. Wife about drowned not wearing her PFD, and a total shit-show. Everybody lived tho, that was good.
Personally, I've had some issues lately at wildcat for some ungodly reason - can't seem to figure out why. This year I'm going river left over in the shadows. No other issues on any other part on that river, just wildcat.
Where did you yard-sale at? Inquiring minds want to know...
I hope you get your oar back.
