That's interesting. I didn't realize it was National Forest on river right almost all the way down to the Spring Creek Rd take out.
The maps show that we'd basically be losing BLM land on river left just below the Spring Creek Rd take out, but we'd gain the land backing up to the National Forest above the take out. Course, that is a pretty steep little canyon...
What kind of access is there currently to the BLM H and G parcels on the river? I've never paddled below the kayaker take out, so just wondering if you can make pit stops at that little piece of BLM land, if it's marked at all, maintained in any way, etc? In other words, is it going to hurt us to lose that land, if we can't access it in the first place?
There's also a small parcel that will be disappearing from the Upper C, BLM J, but it doesn't show that that is going to become part of Blue Valley Ranch, just private. Wonder why that piece of land is involved in this exchange.
Maybe they could make a clause in the agreement saying Blue Valley Ranch has to put in at least two nice eddies/small stops along the river in that 11 mile section of land.
Sounds like they're already offering to make improved take outs and day use areas.
Side note: hey mods, is there any reason we can't combine this thread with the other one 2016 Proposed Blue Valley Land Exchange Comments Sought
.... seems like we may miss some pertinent information if we're only reading one or the other...
