JPW Culebra or Aire Sabertooth for the Grand

So next October we are setting out to run the Grand. Most of my buddies on the trip are running 16' cats with 24-28" diameter tubes. I've rowed a couple of their cats on a couple of runs (westwater, browns at high flow, etc) and like them and appreciate their ability to blast a big hole.

I am toying with the idea of one of these frameless cats with a minimal oar frame on it and just enough gear for me. I think in front I'd have room for a cooler and I'd have room for some dry bags and ammo cans. I figure if I pack compact/light camping gear, and filter/rehydrate a lot of my food I can keep the package light enough to keep it nimble and have fun. Thoughts? I've tried searching this all over the place and can find very little info on rowing these rigs anywhere.

This was posted in the raft porn thread.

So I have rowed a Sabertooth a lot this season and as you can see you can't really load any gear in front of the oarsman. I can carry some overnight gear in the back. It is a fantastic boat. 12.5 feet long. Jack has an 11ft and 14ft Culebra. I think the 11 would be really small for the grand but the 14 would carry quite a bit of gear.
