Funk on the lower Blue

Strange day on the lower Blue Friday 8-2-13. At around noon as we were getting into the Jurassic Park section we encountered heavy pollution in the river. From bank to bank the river was filled with gray water filled with black and white material. The white material would stick to your line as it had a fibrous feel to it. Whatever it was it had the smell of something that had been rotting in the water for sometime. We floated along with it for about a half mile before it started to break up and we could fish again. Anyone have any ideas?

Floated that saturday morning, 8/3 and didnt notice anything like you described, so whatever it was seemed to be broken up and gone by the weekend.
