Fire on the SF Payette

Old news to many. The Canyon has been closed for a couple of weeks now. This video shows the fire burning just over Lone Pine rapid ( I believe).

Sorry it's a FB vid but I thought it was good. Fire vid in the last minute. I hope this doesn't wreck the run for years as I suspect it might.

Thanks Carve. Yes, lone pine. Wow that is pretty active but I'm encouraged to see trees in the foreground. Hopefully this is not a 'nuke it all' fire and has some mosaic areas. I'm particularly bummed about deadwood ridge, there were some awesome stands of survivor ponderosas in there. Fingers crossed.

Obviously many years of potential logs and blow outs after this. I see that deadwood release is up to 900 now, but doubt the canyon will be open rest of season.
