Fifteen minutes of Google Earth fame

If you zoom in to Crystal rapid on Google Earth, our kayak group is right above getting ready to pull in to scout. Our support boats are about one mile back. I was driving the second support boat. And now I have had my fifteen minutes.

Congrats. Please mail me an autograph! Now I wonder - How often does Google Earth update their pictures?

I love google earth for scouting rivers. I always get a chuckle when an angler is in a run, and its either pristine looking or quickly tells me that an angler is clueless. Makes it easier for me!

I print whole section of rivers now and then laminate them when exploring. Its great

But where do i get the autograph?

I thought of a way to make money from this but we will have to act fast before the picture changes.
We can start a reality show "Keeping Up With the Kayakers". But I will have to find the kayakers first. You need to be semi attractive and have really big ..... sprayskirts. And you will need to be willing to be on the river and paddle week after week. You will become famous and get lots of money for no apparent reason. No talent necessary.

Cool! I zoomed in and you look just like your avatar picture!

But seriously, you'll be able to go into the historic photos and fine it after the next time they update the aerial photos.

Always great to have celebrities posting on the Buzz....

I saw a story once about a woman who was perusing google earth and saw her husbands car in front of one of her female friend's house. She was then able to put 2 and 2 together and now he is famous for another reason!

I took a screencap of a GE image that showed my tent and vehicle parked beside it on the Gauley river a few years back.
