Experience with HCRR

Looking for peoples' experience with High Country River Rafters. I've been to a couple of meetings and they seem like nice folks, but their activities always seem to occur when I'm already booked with something else. I've heard that the public calendar doesn't reflect the amount of activity, and lots happens via email. Is true? Is worth the $25 to join?

i say yes, join, they are a active club that put's on alot of efforts to put together demonstrations on River safety classes, CPR classes, How to Read a river and flow classes, how to set up your boat, organized floats trips , beginner trips, cooking tips and cook-off parties, permit parties and help other organizations too. They just supported the organizations with the South Platte River clean up and had several of us members floating and picking up tons of trash off the river in hauling it in our rafts. I was in a duckie, and they have duckie rookie days too! Anyway, most are extremely knowledgeable and I always enjoy their stories, river talk and sharing of info whenever I want ot go somewhere to float. And they all do it for free, the monies collected go to offset cost of certification training, reserving CPR equipment, ect...
signed, Daniel

Right now there are 3 email threads that are going around concerning boating this upcoming weekend. Most of the weekend trips are done through emails.

It has been worth it for me to spend $25. I have made some good friends with the club. There are boaters with all levels of experience in the club.

Right, the activities listed on the web page are just a basic skeleton of the activities. Like Rob mentioned, the most valuable result of joining the club is the access to all-club emails from members planning their boating activities. We send out these emails hoping that others will join us.

much grass

Thanks all, that's what I was looking for, check's in the mail, as usual I am booked every weekend until mid-June. How is it possible that boating gets in the way of boating...
