In rafting rescues, all hands on deck
Rescue teams and rafting guides need to work together, not battle over turf, such as happened last week on Clear Creek.

When a 13-year-old girl is lost in the rapids of a swollen river, plenty of raw adrenaline fuels the efforts of those trying to save her.
Given that fact, it is understandable that reactions among rescuers could become heated.
But the Clear Creek Sheriff's office overreacted last week when it arrested two river guides for trying to help rescue a girl who had fallen from one of their company's rafts.
Thankfully, the girl is OK.
