There are pay sites at both Hecla and Ruby Mtn, very convenient but they tend to fill up during boating season, but I assume you know that and want to avoid them.

Closest and easiest alternative is Raspberry Gulch or Brown's Creek. CR 270 West of the 24/285, about halfway between the two boat ramps. Plenty of USFS pay sites up Chalk and Cottonwood Creeks too.

I believe there is little to none below Hecla, the first ditch originates at Seidell's, then several more divert along the way with a lot of private property most of the way to Stonebridge. There may be bits of public land, but I don't remember them being all that camper friendly. Best bet may be 2 nights above Hecla or a layover. You could start at Fisherman's bridge or even in BV to extend the first day. One possibility is Cottonwood Wash, just after the foot bridge, for a long day hike if you like that sort of layover activity.

Others may have some different ideas...

There is some public land between Twin Falls and Blocks property where the canyon temporarily opens up, but its not flat. My suggestion would be to spend 2 nights in upper Browns.

You could call the ranger station down by the boat ramp in Slaida or talk to Mary at the front desk. They would be able to tell you good spots. And the spots not to be. (719 539 7289 I think) I know there are some spots above Canyon Door on river left. I have seen commercial trip there.

Have fun
