Does anyone out there have much experience on these rivers? I am debating between a 13 or 14 foot raft to use mainly for fishing, but some paddling as well. Thanks for your input!
13ft. is what you want if your are mainly fishing- the aire boats are nice for the eagle because they are not as wide as most and track well, but they are very squirmy and flip easy.
Either will work. If you ever end up wanting to do any overnighters, you'll like the extra room of a 14. Having your casters a little further apart isn't bad either. Its still tight compared to a drift boat.
14 foot is the best,
i have run everything from Jaffe Park to 2 rivers park, even at flows around 125 CFS (don't tell the land owners)
and everything from Pumphouse to Cisco on the 'rado.
and everything from Dowd chutes to Dotsero on the eagle. (189 cfs the lowest)
all done in a 14 footer with 10 foot oars...
13 footer = 'flip master' and no gear for overnighter...
13footer is good for packing down Chuker trail on your back
