Great results with Thermacell. Works well in centralized areas like the kitchen, about 15í radius. Sometimes I will also take a couple bug candles for generally around camp, they donít work like a thermacell but every little bit counts. Those little battery powered fan things from OFF work ok for sitting in a chair or clipping to a kid.

Iím normally an Ultrathon guy (deet) and treat my own stuff with Permethrin (buzz off), but lately Iíve been trying the stuff with Picaridin and am slowly converting. The Picaridin seems to work really well and mainly has none of the greasy feel or smell of deet, doesnít damage plastics or fabrics like deet can.

You might check the warnings -- I seem to recall that it can be nasty to some desirable little critters.

Check your local walmart garden section, they had thermacells on clearance for $9. They are gray, but the exact same unit.
