1967 Grand Canyon Dory Film Can you ID the Dory?

Hi All, the year was 1967. A river trip launched from Lees Ferry, Arizona, and rowed through the Grand Canyon. On that trip was a two-seater Grand Canyon Dory. The link below goes to a film of the dory in Horn Creek, Granite and Deubendorff rapids.

The folks on the trip that took the film did not recall who this was. Do you know who this is? If so, Id really like to hear from you. Thank you in advance,

Happy Holidays, yours, tom

Helmets in 1967??
Gotta be Outward Bound or a school maybe.........
The only person I know running hard boats in 1967 was Martin Litton. Last I heard he's still alive, maybe he'd know.
Maybe Hatch?? color is right.

Hey Shutzie, Dunno... interesting thought that this could have been a school... they were wearing helmets... very interesting...

Yes, Martin was rowing dories in GC at the time, but this is not one of Martin's fleet including the two boats that he acquired from Reilly and Mortenson in 1962, or the other Steele boat... and Martin's crew didn't wear helmets.

Funny you mention Hatch. The guys who made this film were on the Silver Bridge with the movie camera going when Jesse "Shorty" Burton motored under the Bridge on his way to a date with destiny at Upset. In those days the Hatch motor rigs were black had no outrigger tubes... but I digress...

Who could this be...???

Just some shots in the dark.
Nevills but most of his rigs had his name on them and he never wore helmets.
Maybe a crew that was doing one of those record breaking time trips. They might have worn helmets for a speed trip.
Pool and a pond... Pond be good for you.

Nevills died in 1949, and this is from 1967. I bet Norm would have had a blast rowing that boat though! These folks were not doing a speed run, as they ran at the same speed as the other trip from Horn Creek to Stone Creek. All that said, someone knows somewhere... I'll be away for a while, but please send me an e-mail if you find out who was on this trip... Thanks, tom
